Jesus, overhearing, shot back, "Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? I'm here inviting the sin-sick, not the spiritually-fit."

This Seems Rather Festive.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pitted cherries
  • 2 cups blueberries, rinsed and drained
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, flour, and cinnamon in large bowl. Add fruit. Add lemon juice, and stir well.
  2. Pour into a 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Dot with the butter or margarine. Cover with top crust and flute edges. Cut small slits in the top.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 1 hour. I put a baking sheet under mine to catch any liquid that might bubble over.

Speranza.

Against all odds, against all reason, logic, and rational thought, my hopes remain.
I refuse to ever let any amount of pain, frustration, or confusion change that.

"We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope."
(204): She's like Mona Lisa when she's intoxicated. No one understands her but they all think she's marvelous.
But I'm content with this one for now.

"Hope, deceitful as it is, serves at least to lead us to the end of our lives by an agreeable route." ~François Duc de La Rochefoucauld
You're old, broken, and out of tune, but I love you.
What can I say? Sometimes I just want to fly.
But I really think I like it that way.
"Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come." ~Anne Lamott
"Hope is the feeling we have that the feeling we have is not permanent. " ~Mignon McLaughlin
And yet we all have our vices.
I envy your ability to run away, but I think I want to face it this time.
"Hope is but the dream of those who wake." ~Matthew Prior
You'll escape it though, your hopes are only endlessly crushable because they refuse to be killed.
Like the breath before the plunge, it's that flicker of hope that with get you through the night.

Closet Fanatic.

"Fleur, now a perfect Harry copy, walked over to Bill giving him a sloppy, slavish look that Harry hoped with all his heart would never appear on his face again."
"Death's got an invisibility cloak?" Harry Interrupted again.
"So he can sneak up on people," Ron said. "Sometimes he gets bored of running after them, flapping his arms and shrieking...sorry Hermione."
"It was a shock to see Ron and Hermione standing exactly where he had left them, Hermione still holding Lily's letter, Ron at her side looking slightly anxious. Didn't they realize how far they had traveled in the last few minutes?"
"Is this the moment?" Harry asked weakly, and when nothing happened except that Ron and Hermione gripped each other still more firmly and swayed on the spot, he raised his voice"OI! There's a war going on here!"
"I know, mate," said Ron, breaking away, "so it's now or never, isn't it?"
"IF WE DIE FOR THEM, I'LL KILL YOU HARRY!" roared Ron's voice.
Harry stunned the Death Eater as they passed: Malfoy looked around, beaming, for his savior, and Ron punched him from under the cloak.
"And that's the second time we've saved your life tonight, you two-faced bastard!" Ron yelled.
"My word, Severus, that I shall never reveal the best of you?" Dumbledore sighed, looking down into Snape's ferocious, anguished face. "If you insist..."
"Well, I don't know how to break this to you," Ron said, "but I think they might have noticed we broke into Gringotts."
"Certainly not," Said Dumbledore, "You must kill me."
There was a long silence.
"Would you like me to do it now?" Asked Snape, his voice heavy with irony. "Or would you like a few minutes to compose an epitaph?"
He looked fleetingly like a small boy caught in wrongdoing.
"True, true" said Dumbledore, and he was like a child seeking reassurance.
"...And understands that there are far, far worse things in the living world than dying."
"Tell me one last thing," said Harry "Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"
Dumbledore beamed at him.
"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?"
"We did it, we bashed them, wee Potter's the one. And Voldy's gone moldy, so now let's have fun!"
"With a low cry, George crossed the last few steps between them and, ignoring Fred’s wand, simply grabbed his twin around the neck. For a moment, Fred wavered, looking like he might just win the battle to stay upright, but then the pair sank to the ground, George sobbing, and Fred looking like someone had knocked the wind, sense, and everything else right out of him."

How It Is and How It Should Be

Beginnings are usually scary.
Endings are usually sad.
Trouble is what I tend to find.
But when has that stopped us?
I guess all on can do is hope to end up with the right regrets.
But battle wounds and life scars.
Much as I hate to admit that. It's true.
I'd rather endure a thousand broken bones then to endure another broken heart.
It's coming. Keep your faith.
Make me come alive.
No. I lay awake and dream.
I don't want to.
I don't want to.
I don't want to.
But I can't stay.
You know that's the only reason I want it. It's dangerous. I need to stop dancing with disaster.
Love has been the hopeless in my hopeful heart.
I'd like to see you try.
It was a power struggle from the moment we touched.
I shouldn't. But I don't want to stop.
Of course [he's] in [l]ove with [y]ou darl[ing].
Fingers Crossed.
I'm not lost.
I'm just lost.
No I'll never cry over you again.
I'll cry over someone else.
I can see right through you.
My heart just gets in the way.
There's nothing you can do to me, that's ever going to break me.
it comes and goes in these violent outbursts.
It's not me.
It's the oldest trick in the book.
Why can't you see through it?
I don't understand why.
And the injustice of it threatens to swallow me.
But it won't.
And it will work out.
And I will be okay.
Somehow.
